I guess I missed something. The whole thing is black and white, I thought it would be color. The earlier stories are a little dated and that is to be expected. I felt some of the artists picked were not that good, (especially present day). I wouldn’t call this the ‘Best Horror Comics’, more like ‘OK Horror Comics’. In closing though I will say I did enjoy some of the stories and therefore gave it 3 stars.

It would have been much more enjoyable IF it had at Least an Oversized Paperback.

If you like E.C. Horror comics this isn’t it. the comics reprinted here were their compititors in the worst way. Lousy stories and the art is good to fair. However if you never heard of E.C. or just like Horror in general, then your in for a treat with a price that can’t be beat.

Provides 50′s horror comic book fans with about 21 stories from that pre-code era. The rest are by artists who hardly fit into that catagory, mostly reprints from obscure independent titles you might find in the “10 for $10.00″ bin at your local comic book shop. For the rare reprints that are offered it’s worth obtaining, but don’t expect a collection of the best in horror illustration by any measure.

This type of publication was long overdue. Hope they print more like it. Great stuff at a great price.
